Metrc is a regulatory software platform used by administrative bodies for the regulation of the marijuana industry in each state where Metrc is deployed.
This support article will serve as a resource for information on the Metrc system chosen as Montana’s monitoring system throughout all parts of the state to track marijuana inventory levels and movements for the MMJ industry.
As a licensed owner, you will need to request access to Metrc for your license type to set up each licensed facility. All your associated facilities will be set up and available in Metrc.
IndicaOnline and Metrc are working closely together to ensure that the inventory tracking system will facilitate inventory control for retail sales.
More information will be added on an ongoing basis to this page during Montana’s transition to Metrc.
Attention: Any inventory changes in your Metrc account must not happen under any circumstances. Indica will not reflect any inventory adjustments happened in Metrc, thus will not bear responsibility for any discrepancies issues encountered.
How do you get started in Metrc to begin your integration process?
Once you have been approved for your annual business license, you have gotten your training with Metrc and you have completed your login credentials, you can start tracking your cannabis sales through Metric.
Metrc is a real-time system that uses serialized tags with barcodes, which are attached to every package to track marijuana inventory. Each tag attached facilitates tracking and monitoring of the resources in Mertc.
Retail sale restrictions for medical customers:
- Montana residents 18 years of age or older, who need medical marijuana treatment can purchase marijuana products from a licensed dispensary;
- Medical marijuana patient can purchase 1 oz or 28.35 grams of usable marijuana (flower);
- Medical marijuana patient can purchase 1 oz of concentrates;
- Medical marijuana patient can possess four (4) mature plants and 12 seeds;
- Delivery services by the registered provider are permitted;
- Personal cannabis cultivation is permitted.
For Montana MMJ industry, the state has elected to issue 100 package tags at a time. In order to increase your productivity and efficiencies, if you have more than 100 MMJ products in your inventory, you will need to reduce your Products to 100 or less before you begin your integration process with Metrc.
Based upon the total quantity of your MMJ Products, multiple stages of your Metrc integration may apply. If you have a larger number of tags that are allowed to be integrated, you will be required to complete your Mertc integration for 100 tags at a time.
IndicaOnline has a dedicated team of support staff who will be available to work with you to complete your integration process with Metrc and to resolve any issues encountered.
